Lisa Ume - The Women's Self Worth Therapist
Supporting overwhelmed women quiet their inner critic and learn to value themselves, not just others
Is this you?
Are you your own worst critic and often feel not good enough in many areas of your life? Do you keep everyone else happy at expense of yourself? I support women with self-worth, people pleasing and emotional overwhelm…
For women whose days are full of giving to others and yet they have this constant feeling that they could do more or that what they've given isn't good enough.
Therapy which is evidence based, rooted in neuroscience and lived experience. I help women explore how their sense of self has been shaped throughout their lives, how their inner dialogue is affecting their relationships (with others and themselves) and how to move towards things that truly matter to them.
Therapy for overwhelmed women focusing on self worth, self criticism and people pleasing.
Hi, I'm Lisa
Many of my clients are busy Millennial or Gen Z women who are the dependable ones, the friends and partners who will do anything for anyone. And yet they find themselves torn by feeling like what they do just isn't good enough.
Combining lived experience and extensive psychotherapy training, I support women to quiet their inner critic and learn to take up space in their own lives.
I'm a fully qualified and accredited therapist which means you can rest assured knowing I follow strict ethical proceeders and have been assessed thoroughly to meet the gold standard of CBT therapy.

I'm a therapist specialising in self worth, self criticism and people pleasing. I know how overwhelming and debilitating self criticism and people pleasing can be, because I've lived with it too.
The Approaches
I Use
I am integrative therapist which means I draw from different types of therapy. The key modalities I use are listed below.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT can help you identify difficult thought patterns that undermine your self worth.
What to Expect:
Learn how thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and behaviours interact. CBT is my base training and has given way to "Third Wave CBT approaches" such as ACT and CFT which are now at the core of my practice.
ACT focuses on committed to actions that are in line with what matters to you, even when difficult thoughts and emotions show up.
What to Expect:
Experiential exercises and clarity in what truly matters in your life. How to follow these even when hard things show up
CFT cultivates self-compassion (which is hard by the way!) and kindness, replacing the harsh inner critic with a more supportive voice that holds us gently accountable.
What to Expect:
Practice self soothing techniques and develop a warmer relationship with yourself
